So far, I have tried to review different brands of high heels to ensure I’m not being biased towards one brand and show an array of options on the market, but I saw these BCBG heels and I had to buy and review them. If you haven’t seen my previous post for a pair of BCBG heels, I raved about them because they are by far the most comfortable heels in my closet (see BCBG Laser Cut Knit Heel). I still wear those heels to this day and they are really starting to show it, but it is so hard to find comfortable heels, am I right?!? The ironic part is that BCBG is not a company known for their comfortable heels, and yet, they have quite a few that hit the mark, including these!! Suffice it to say, this will be a pretty short review as, per usual, they are amazing!
The first thing that stood out for me was the ankle tie feature which I love! It would be nice if the tie could be wrapped up the calf, but in my experience, it just kept falling down. No biggie though, an around the ankle tie still looks cute (see the Overall Rating section below to see them on me). I also loved the mesh material around the toes because it allows for not only a bit more breathability, but flexibility as well allowing for prolonged comfort. They also managed to add significant padding for the ball-of-the-foot which makes these feel even more comfy!
The only downside to these is the fact that the bottom of the heel has zero traction or tread, making these a potential slip hazard. Also, because they lack material at the back of the heel, you’re relying on your tie job, so hopefully you’ll tie them tight. I noticed that if the ankle tie wasn’t tight enough, the heel of my foot wouldn’t always land in the center of the heel and I could foresee that being a problem; especially on a night out of drinking and dancing! I will say though that they make the perfect Summer heel due to the light feel and breathability!
With this being the first time I have posted a picture of me in the heels I’m reviewing, that speaks volumes. I’d give these heels a 4 on the pain scale, with a 10 being the most uncomfortable high heels on the planet! As long as they are tied tight and you’re not on a super slippery floor, you should be able to wear these for quite some time before they give you any problems which is a rare find! They come in 4 colors: black, white, red, and nude and are currently on sale at Nordstrom for $80 (normally $100). So if you’re thinking of splurging on a new pair of heels in the near future, these would definitely suit you!
