1.State Harvie Pump

Ladies, have I got a new pair for you! Now, don’t get your hopes up too much, but I will start by saying these do look pretty cool, right?! These definitely caught my eye with their unique snake pattern/color, the asymmetrical cut on top, and the fact that they are pretty affordable ($89 a pop). At this point in my life, I should know that the old saying holds true: you do get what you pay for. I was hoping these could be the heel we all needed: very fashionable, unique, affordable, AND comfortable, but unfortunately this heel fell flat on the latter.

Unfortunately for 1.State, the cost cuts to make this heel affordable also meant that there would be a cut in quality. I had high hopes on the comfort side because of the wider heel that will provide more stability, but real talk, the thick, rigid leather only rubbed the back of my heel and toes raw! I really could only walk in them for about 15 minutes before saying “screw these” and reaching for my BCBGs (see earlier blog on these beauties).

The one positive thing I can say about these heels is that the heel height seems to be at a sweet spot. They definitely don’t feel too high, but it’s still enough height to have that added boost. They also come in black and nude, but the multi-color pattern gives you the most bang for your buck in the sense that they go with almost any outfit. Unfortunately, the compliments stop there, and I’m not sure they’re worth the mention considering they’re hella uncomfortable.

Overall Rating

While the style is very fashionable, the color pattern can go with almost any outfit, and despite the great price, do your feet a favor and don’t bother buying these unless you plan to be carried everywhere. I’d give these a 8.5 on the uncomfortable scale (10 being the most painful heels on the planet). Sorry, 1.State, try again next time… with higher quality materials that don’t make my feet feel like they have road rash!

What Heel Do You Want to See Rated?

I plan to continue the search for the best possible high heel that won’t break the bank, but also provide lasting comfort and style. I’d love to hear what you want to see rated or if you have heard of that next “big thing” in high heel comfort, I wanna know about it. Until next time, keep your heels high and never settle for less than you deserve!

As the profesional shoe person that I’m, my comment is very much design & product engineering based. And the best in this pair is their asymmetrical top line. It’s a nice and elegant aesthetic differentiator.
